Performing & Programming Arts
New Hope Community Church is a purpose
driven church. We believe God has placed us on earth for five
purposes or reasons:
To
“connect” with God and other
Christians
To “grow”
in our relationship with Christ
To “serve”
God by serving our church family
To “reach”
out and share the good news of Jesus with others
To “celebrate Christ”
through meaningful worship
Worship is at the center of who we are.
The performing and programming arts at New Hope play an indispensable
role in helping create a meaningful worship experience. The
following is a brief description of the current ministries
at New Hope under performing and programming arts. If you
are interested in participating in any these ministries, or
if you have any questions, please contact the ministry leader.
Programming and Programming Arts Ministries
A
wide range of performing arts opportunities are available
to New Hope family members.
Praise Team (Vocalists)
Our Praise Team leads us in worship.
Practice is held on Tuesday evening at the Family Life Center.
Auditions are required for this ministry.
Team Leader: Steve Duff
Praise Band (Instrumentalists)
If you play a musical instrument, consider
sharing your gift with our church family by being a part of
our praise band. Even if you do not currently see the instrument
you play being used, please let us know of your gift. We are
always looking to expand this ministry by adding new people
and instruments. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evening at
the Family Life Center.
Team Leader: Steve Duff
Let Hope Sing (Vocal Ensemble)
This ensemble of 8 vocalists often performs
for special seasonal programs and other special events. Each
singer sings directly on a microphone creating a dynamic "presence"
of choral sound. Opportunities to sing solos with the ensemble
serving as back-up vocalists is a common practice.
Celebration Gospel Choir (Singers)
Our 50 voice Celebration Gospel Choir
sings throughout the year at special services and community
events in addition to presenting their own concerts. This
"Wall of Sound" involves singers ranging from High
School age to Sr. Citizens! If you love to serve God through
singing, we want you in the choir! We are always looking for
new singers as well! No experience is necessary! Rehearsals
are held on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM in the Family Life
Center. (More)

Moving Spirit (Dancers)
Dance has richly enhanced our worship
experience. Whether you are young or old, whether you perform
ballet, jazz, or modern dance, you are invited to explore
this wonderful ministry. Auditions are required.
Team Leader: Reina Bolles
Let Hope Ring (Bell Choir)
This is the newest performing arts ministry
at New Hope. Even if you can't read music, you are still invited
to be a part of the bell choir. Beautiful music is made here!
Team Leader: Reina Bolles
New Song (Vocal Ensemble)
This incredible singing group travels
throughout the greater San Diego area blessing other churches
with their concerts and leading in worship. Auditions are
required for this ministry. Visit their website for additional
information, reviews, and samples of their music: www.go-newhope.com/newsong.
Team Leader: Ron Bolles
Drama Team
Our worship services are greatly enhanced
by vignettes performed by members of our Drama Team. These
short sketches, which may be serious in nature or look at
the lighter side of life, relate to the theme being presented
in worship. If you enjoy acting, please consider being a part
of the Drama Team.
Team Leader: Steve Duff
Sound & Lighting
Our “tech” team enhances
the various performing arts ministries through sound and lighting
support. If you have experience running sound or dealing with
lights, you are needed. Or if you are willing to learn about
this ministry, training is available.
Team Leader: Steve Duff.
Multimedia
Members of this team do everything from
running our multimedia equipment, to video taping, editing,
and creating new and different multimedia presentations. If
you have experience in this area or are willing to learn,
please let us know!
