"Singing is meant to move us into praise. It provides a medium for the expression of emotion. Through music we express our joy, our thanksgiving. No less than forty-one psalms command us to "sing unto the Lord." If singing can occur in a concentrated manner it serves to focus us. We become centered. Our fragmented minds and spirits flow into a unified whole. We become poised toward God."
- Richard Foster

Our Purpose

To glorify God through song done to the best of our capabilities, and in so doing move others closer to God. To serve as an inspiration to your congregation!

Our Structure

New Song is composed of 18 multi-generational and interdenominational musicians who are capable of singing eight part a cappella harmonies.

Being Christians, the first criterion is that members must love the Lord. This is paramount, as the vision is that this is a ministry. Our presentations will be worship oriented - not performances!

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." Deuteronomy 6:5

Each person involved must have a willingness to have or grow toward a strong walk with Jesus Christ, and be committed wholeheartedly to the concept of a worship leading choir. We encourage a committed prayer life, regular tithing, regular reading of the Bible, and a passion to grow in living a holy life. We do recognize that no one is perfect, just forgiven. We are all in the process of being transformed by the power of Jesus Christ in our individual lives.

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God." Colossians 3:16

The second criterion is that members have the desire and ability to sing music as perfectly as possible.

"Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect."
Matthew 5:48

"Our Letter"

Our songs and testimonies are written on the tablets of our hearts and our prayer is to leave our words and worship on the hearts of others.

"You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts."
2 Corinthians 3:2-3

A Closing Thought

"I wish to see all arts, principally music, in the service of Him who gave and created them. Music is a fair and glorious gift of God. I would not for the world forego my humble share of music. Singers are never sorrowful, but are merry, and smile through their troubles in song. Music makes people kinder, gentler, more staid and reasonable. I am strongly persuaded that after theology there is no art that can be placed on a level with music; for besides theology, music is the only art capable of affording peace and joy of the heart . . . the devil flees before the sound of music almost as much as before the Word of God."
- Martin Luther
